We need more role models like First Lady Michelle Obama instead of Marilyn Monroe There was a conversation that took place on the radio that surrounded the issue of how some women have been exploiting themselves, for example; Nicki Minaj & Kim Kardashian as well as why they are not good role models for young girls. I am in total agreement. Its sad that some women alter their bodies by getting injections/shots to inflate their body parts. No matter how many alterations are made, the lack of acceptance for ones self is still prevalent. So many are stuck on vanity (how they look), exhibit shallowness and are self centered individuals that should not be viewed as role models for our young girls. The unladylike tendencies are learned behavior which dates back to Josephine Baker, who wore bananas around her waist (b/s she was viewed as less than human-animalistic per se). Another example is Marilyn Monroe who was a concubine, but yet shes placed on a pedestal. And then theres the polar opposite; women of integrity such as Jackie O and First Lady Michelle Obama who exemplify class, sophistication and integrity. We must teach young girls that their bodies are temples and that the images they see as well as content viewed may not always be righteous. I also think there should be more censorship in regard to explicit content that is being shown on television, played on the radio and spread throughout various social media outlets. #TeamLadylike
