We need prayers today! We rent from Bubba Rabon at Rabon Properties Llc on 3625 Broad Street, Sumter, SC, 803-494-5900. We have had several things that need to be fixed but they refuse to fix them. Last week we talked to Mr. Bubba Rabon himself, again (twice since last year) who said he was unaware of the things that needed to be fixed. That isnt so because I talked to him myself around 6 months ago and told him what was going on. He said then that he would take care of it and never did. We had a roof leak last year, they came out, swept the roof with our broom, and put putty on the inside ceiling. Thats it. It lasted until November when it started leaking a few days before Thanksgiving. They came out the day before and swept the roof with our broom but no putty... and no fixing the outside at all (the same as last year). It started leaking Thanksgiving day. I called them again, they still havent sent anyone out. We have to keep buckets on the kitchen table every time it rains. The ceiling sags and has had black mold on it for months because of this. Keep in mind that we have told them, several times over the past year, everything that needs to be fixed. These things are: 1-leaking roof with hole in it (in the kitchen), 2-floor in walk-in closet is sagging and we had to put something over it so we dont fall through, 3-front porch step has had a broken brick since we moved here, 4-front screen door has been broke since we moved here (we tried duct-taping it to keep it together, but that didnt last long), 5-roof sagging and mold in bedroom closet, 6-black mold in both bathrooms and all through living room/dining room split at roof and all over area at front door (we have tried using bleach to clean the mold but it keeps coming back because its in the walls and roof and I can only get to the surfaces), 7-the windows and doors are not sealed properly and are drafty and let in mosquitos and flies (we had to put duct tape all around them), 8-bathroom sink drips, 9-kitchen sink leaks and we have to put large pot under it and we empty it twice daily, 10-water heater leaks and has caused saggy floor in closet, 11-crack in bathtub, 12-cabinet doors have not closed and hang down and are partially broken since we moved here, 13-refrigerator sounds like its on its last leg, 14-heater quit working and needed part replaced (we had to buy that and get it fixed so we would have heat, Grandmama bought the parts for us), 15-sewage backed up into yard (called rent company and let them know several times - finally had to call them and tell them the neighbors would call health dept and complain about smell if something wasnt fixed and they would be in trouble for not fixing it - they finally sent someone out - the company that came told me there was a toothbrush clogging the pipes - it was from the people that lived here before us), 16-the stove eye quit working and we had to replace it because they wouldnt, 17-the element in the oven had to be replaced because it quit working, they wouldnt replace it and we had to pay for it and fix it, 18-the bottom shelf of the refrigerator has had a cracked since we moved here. They wouldnt fix it. It finally shattered last week. We keep having to spend money to get things fixed because they dont want to, even though we were paying the rent every month on time. David refused to pay rent until they fixed the problems about three months ago. Two weeks ago the water stopped working. Nothing would come out of the pipes. We called to get it fixed, they wouldnt send anyone. David called Bubba and he said he would have someone some to fix it. He called back and asked David how come we hadnt paid the rent in three months. He told him it was because we had things that needed fixing but his secretary wouldnt send anyone to fix them. Bubba said he would probably be firing her and he would be sending someone to fix the water and other things that week if David would pay $600 for this month and catch up the rent over the next few months. David agreed and went that day to pay the $600. No one came that day. I called Bubba the next day and he told me they would be there after 4pm that same day. He confirmed what he had told David about the rent getting caught up over the next few months. I even told him my qualifications and that I have an associate degree in accounting and could fill in for his secretary that he still said he was going to fire last week. Bubba said he would keep that in mind and would probably be calling me next week for the job. This morning around 8 am someone knocks on our door with an immediate vacating order or respond within 10 days to show why we shouldnt be evicted. I cannot believe the nerve of this man. He is definitely not an honorable man. If anyone is thinking of renting from him, please think again. It will only cause you a lot of heart-ache and trouble in the end... as well as a lot of money out of your own pocket to fix things on top of paying rent. Please keep us in your prayers for finding another place to rent that is in our price range. Please keep Bubba Rabon in your prayers for compassion and for seeing the error of his ways. If anyone has any advice or knows of anywhere near Lakewood High School to rent around $600, please let me know. Thank you all so very much for your prayers.
