We need to accept that George Zimmerman will not likely be convicted! The mere fact that “Self-Defense” was allowed as an affirmative plea in the case decided it right from the start! How can one claim self-defense if you pursue and accost an individual?! Zimmerman was told, in no uncetain terms, “Do Not Pursue!”, and yet he chose to do so anyway! (Probably because he knew he had a gun!) Furthermore, one does not buy a gun and the bullets therein for any purpose other than deadly force! The legal system has now so devalued human life that we find it acceptable to take a life if we convince a jury that we felt threatened. Trayvon Martin DID NOT threaten George Zimmerman’s existence! I don’t care how it is portrayed in court! If young Master Martin did not brandish a weapon then he did not threaten Zimmerman’s life to the extent that a weapon was necessary to subdue him. The child threw up his fists. This, for me, was a perfectly acceptable response to being pursued and accosted by an unknown assailant, with unknown intentions. If George Zimmerman threw up his fist and whipped the kid’s ass that would have been an ass-whipping that the kid would have had to take, but he’d still be alive! If he had pulled a gun he might well have deserved to have been shot! He did nothing wrong and he lost his life! And, his killer will go free!
