We need to look at the bigger picture if these rumours are factual. Funland have asked Hayling Seaside Railway to vacate the land (confirmed by HSRailway) Rumour is this will enable Funlands to sell the land to developers without a sitting tenant. If this is the case, firstly, there will be no further requirement for a train - All aboard - destination building site! There will be no trade Surely Hayling Seaside Railway can re-negotiate the contract with Funlands and agree to vacate the property only if/when the land is sold. Secondly, and more importantly, the fair is one of the main key attractions that brings in thousands of tourists to Hayling every year which is absolutely vital for local businesses to exist. Without them, many more businesses will go into bankruptcy / closure. We really need our counsellors on board to block any planning permission on the fairground site and save our local businesses.. This land should only be sold for recreational purposes that attracts tourists, not development of more flats where our Dr Surgerys etc cannot cope already. Any councillors up for this fight on behalf of Hayling Businesses ?
