We need to take a long hard look at the purpose of imprisonment. We know the purpose; its to fill the corporate owned prisons, and remove those seen as unsavoury off our streets; a win, win situation for a conservative Govt., sadly, for those targeted. It will now get worse with austerity measures introduced to welfare recipients, as we see borderline working class folk lose employment and end up on the streets, to join those already there. Mentally ill dont stand a chance, especially if unable to have medication monitored. We are turning into a cruel, heartless society, and no one seems to care; clearly, as so many seemed to vote for this regime, which is what it is, as it sure as hell isnt a democracy.
