We need troops on the ground in Nigeria. The Nigerian military is obsolete against Boko Haram. While it is cool for the world to show solidarity through the Bring back our girls media campaign, it is even more crucial that the world descend upon Boko Haram with its full military might to get those girls back. World leaders must take action, and that action is not putting up pictures on social networks. That action should also be immediate. Some publicity stunt that Boko Haram does not even get to see is useless so long as it is not targeted at the world leaders, asking them to do more. Boko Haram is a militant organization with political goals of their own and the least of their worries is global public opinion. What they fear is a full scale military onslaught on their hideouts. Let us rather post and tell global leaders to commit troops to fight Boko Haram. To devote as much resources as they did to the search of flight M370 to the search for these girls: not some little placards asking Boko Haram bring back our girls- if they were your girls your armies would be all over those forests recovering them, whats with the pretense and no action? We need special forces out there, not hostage negotiators because Boko Haram does not negotiate!
