We need your ideas As you know we are a charity, providing education to some of the poorest children in Uttar Pradesh and not a fund raising business.But although we receive grants from organisations in India in keeping children in school and not in the workplace, we are still dependant on donations from the general public to provide the best education we can deliver. Our sponsor a child programme is one way people like yourself can help these children to realise their full potential and improve the lives not only of themselves but their families and their villages where they live. But that is not the only way you can help. There are countless ways that you can raise funds to help this project, such as a sponsored event like my motorbike ride around India or Dush Patels marathon run that raised a massive £1,250 in South Africa. Yet it neednt be some major physical undertaking to help us in ouir aims. There is the story of one supporter who holds a coffee morning once a week and collects over the year all the proceeds. This story made me wonder if all our followers could suggest ideas for raising funds, so we can share ideas amongst ourselves. I had the idea of going around my neighbourhood with a hedge clipper and cutting the hedges for £20 a garden for instance, until my motor bike crash injury intervened. Its something I will resurrect next year and do between epic bits like riding a push bike 800 kilometers to our school in Guria.
