We never hear of casualty or fatality figures about our armed forces. Ive noticed that most times, while civilian casualties are overestimated, military deaths are underestimated. And while most of us would like to see selfie photos of our soldiers with their bounty as evidence that theyre working, we have to admit that theyre trying their best. If Im going to do a Mothers day shout out, Ill have to dedicate it to the wives and mothers of our fallen heroes who lost their lives on the battlefield. May God look after you and your kids and grant you the strength to carry on. Most especially, happy mothers day to all single mums and widows/widowers who have had to, at one point in their lives, serve the purpose of father and mother to their children.
