We often get asked how did our Boeing 747 - 200 VH-EBQ get to Longreach? When we explain it flew into Longrech, the next question is, was there enough runway? The Longreach runway is just under 2km, which is more than enough runway for a 747 to land and stop but taking off may be an issue. In the museum we have video footage from all the news reports of the day reporting the 747s landing on 16 November 2012. This youtube video shows the aircraft coming in to land that day.
