We often treat ourselves to cup of coffee, a dinner, a new pair of shoes, a movie or some other item that may be a necessary item..yet how many of us have had a Mass offered for our living loved one..or for ourselves? I know though I may have offered Mass for those I love I have never requested a Mass for myself..yet this is more needed and necessary than any shoes would ever be..the graces of a Mass offered for a person are beyond our comprehension. St. Leonard says One Mass before death is more profitable then many after death. St. Anself says A single Mass offered for oneself during life may be worth more then a thousand celebrated for the same intention after death Pope Benedict XV says The Holy Mass would be of greater profit if people had it offered in their lifetime, rather than having it celebrated for the relief of their souls after death. So I am praying that you will not only start having Masses offered for those you love..and maybe for those you dont love so much, but like me you will start to request Masses for yourself. ~Lori Potvin~
