We owe these people of God an apology! More importantly, WE OWE JESUS AN APOLOGY! Brothers and sisters, we are not just kings and queens and heirs with Christ. We have all come from the “carpenter” background in some way. Take a honest, godly look at your past and see from where Jesus has brought you. Some of us have been delivered from the poverty of a bleak mindset while others have been escorted out of the bondages of perversion and drunkenness! Glance at the history of those you have chosen to emulate. They struggled! They had to learn how to trust God before they began living in the reality of their assignment that has caught the attention of millions of people. They had to learn how to preach to the 10 before they could minister to the 10 million! They were CARPENTERS before they were KINGS & QUEENS! If Jesus had to walk that path, what sense does it make for any of us to believe that we would escape that same path when He has called us to not only share in His glory, but also His sufferings? Therefore, let’s put away the lie and belief that we can simply hop into the streams of our assignments and bask in the royalty that Christ has given us. Yes, it is ours, but great rulers have first been humbled. Excellent kings identify with all of their citizens, no matter their status. It’s the same thing Jesus did for us. He came, experiencing our life and relating to us so that He could be the wonderful firstfruit and representation of our death and resurrection before God. So, if you want to be a king or a queen, prepare to become the carpenter first!
