We pray and ask the Lord to send real people into our lives but when He does we find a hard time accepting them because they don’t come with a deck of cards, a Budweiser, and a bag of Nacho flavored Doritos. They come real. They come correct. They pull open the doors of our closets and pull out those skeletons. They empty our trash, the ones we swept under the rug and they get in our face about it. Those are the ones we turn on, criticize, withdraw support from, and give an evil eye to. They are the ones who are despised, gossiped about, and backstabbed BUT those were the ones WE asked God for. The instructions Jesus gave to His disciples to shake the dust off their feet when they weren’t received still stands and the dust is still being shaken off until this day. When God sends you somebody real, you respect that person. You don’t have to like them, invite them to dinner, or throw them a party, but you respect their position in your life. That person is God’s favor to you, they are God’s wisdom to you, and they are your intercessors. They have the grace to put up with your nonsense with no one else does. They will love you when your actions are unlovable. They will stand between Heaven and Hell for you because God sent them to help you, grow you, and establish you. Samuel was the real one in Saul’s life but even when Samuel wanted to remain a part of Saul’s life, God said, ”NO!” He would not allow the grace upon Samuel’s life to be frustrated and disrespected. When God removes that real person from your life, you have been judged as unworthy and the Lord will send them to the ‘neighbor that is better than you’. Now that is about as real as real can get… when your Samuel starts walking….
