We prayed for several lawyers at Courtside Ministries in Valparaiso today. One of them didn’t stop as he went in, but just called back, “Sure!” when we asked if we could pray for him. When he came out again the team members were all busy praying for other people, but he waved his hands with a lot of enthusiasm and called out, “It worked!” We’re not sure what God did, but we were glad He did it. A lawyer who did stop does a lot of work for free for people who cannot afford to pay him. He really cares about his clients and has a hard time not becoming over-involved. He said that he needed to do something about his concern for them, “or it will kill me!” We prayed for him and tried coaching him on passing his concern and caring on to Jesus, who has told us to cast all of our cares on Him because He cares for us. We prayed with a woman who is running for Porter County Commissioner in the November elections. She wanted wisdom, since she is on a committee for revising the rules for the judicial system.
