We really dont understand how people can surrender their animals to a shelter without even consulting a vet. Twix was surrendered to mcacc by her owners for being ill. She is 6lbs and probably around 13+ years old. Her nails were so long she couldnt walk. Twix was so congested yesterday, she could barely breathe. Thanks to our awesome kitty foster Nicole, we were able to save this girl. We dont know if she will ever become adoptable, as she may not have much time left. Obviously here at Standing Proud, we take in the occasional honorary Pit Bull and we couldnt leave this sweetheart at the shelter any longer. She is currently on the way to the vet for an exam.
