We received a beautiful message today from a former teacher. Please read: I have wanted to thank you for far too long now. I worked as a mathematics teacher at Booker T Washington for the last two school years. Last year you came to Booker T. and gave a handful of our most tenacious and deserving students a lot of money to help them pay for college. I was in the audience when you called the students up and wrote checks to them on the spot. I should have emailed you months ago to tell you how touched I was during that time. I no longer live in Florida or work at Booker T Washington, but I am comforted to know that people like you are still looking out for the students I learned to love during my short time there. As you are well aware, many of the students at Booker T are faced with often unfathomable challenges that threaten to defeat their dreams and aspirations. It is students like the ones you meet at Booker T, and stories like that of your daughter, that remind me of how strong the human spirit can be. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for dedicating so much of yourselves to helping students from Booker T Washington. I think of and pray often for your family. Best Wishes,
