We received a call from a family who had found an injured stray - TopicsExpress

We received a call from a family who had found an injured stray dog that desperately needed help. Rescuers arrived at the home where the family was quite emotional about her condition and so thankful we had arrived to help. Their best guess was that she had been attacked by coyotes and her front right leg was so badly swollen and infected she wasnt bearing any weight on it. The sweet little angel known as Misty joined rescuers in the cab for the ride back to Calgary. She was eating cookies and sitting in our laps as though she knew she was going to receive the help she needed. Shes a lucky young girl as shes now been saved twice. First when she wondered into a home in a remote area in Alberta that took her into their home, cared for her, slept next to her all night and called AARCS to help. Then again when AARCS was able to come to her rescue and help care for her injuries. Misty is now at Fish Creek Vet Hospital. Sadly her leg could not be saved and she had to undergo leg amputation surgery. Please keep her in your thoughts as she heals from this traumatic injury. We couldnt do what we do without the support of our amazing fosters, volunteers and donors. If you would like to help contribute to Mistys recovery you can donate online at aarcs.ca/donate/
