We received a letter comparing Texas to the other 49 states. Some of the comparisons are pretty disturbing. The Average Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) combined Scores. We scored 47th Lowest. Percent of Population Graduated from High School. 50th Lowest. Percent of Population Uninsured 1st Highest Per Capita State spending on Mental Health 50th The Lowest Percent of Pregnant Women Receiving Prenatal Care in first Trimester 50th Lowest Percentage of women living in Poverty 4th Highest. We all need to hold our elected officials feet to the fire and demand improvement in these and other areas of Texas schools, health care, and economic opportunities. Where is our Pride in being a Texan?
