We received a message the other day from one our customers John B. it reads as follows Dear Scott I have been hearing about Whole House Fans, can you fill me in on these and their benefits and does Shumaker Roofing install them ?, Thanks John .....Our response John it so happens I installed a whole house fan about 6 yrs ago in my own home, after I received your message I decided to really observe how it functions in a scientific manner (as scientific as I can be). Yesterday the temp rose to 82 in my house, at sunset I turned on the whole house fan after opening my kitchen window, the approx time was 755 pm, at 935 pm the temp in my house was 70, I left the fan on all night, this morning at 5am the temp in the house was a cool 58 ( much to the dissatisfaction of my daughter,dog and cat). The whole idea of a whole house fan is to exchange the air in the home, also replacing heated air in the attic space with cool air (removing the heated insulated air in the insulation and replacing it with cool air). I am going to check the temp again at 755 pm tonight and make a comparison to yesterdays temps in the home. Keep in mind the temps outside today are to be much warmer than yesterday.I am very pleased with my whole house fan, and yes we do install them. I will post this evenings results tomorrow, Thanks for the interest John
