We received an e-mail today, from a Mr Peter Elliot, from Livingston: Hi. This morning, my elderly mother was boarding a bus in Edinburgh, heading back to Broxburn. She was horrified when she noticed that shed lost her bus pass during her shopping trip. However, the driver let her board for free, telling her that these things happen and not to worry, before advising her how to go about obtaining a new one. Not only that, when it came to her stop in Broxburn, he helped her off with her shopping. In this day and age, generosity is rare, and a lot of drivers get a bad press, so I wanted to give praise where its due. If you happen to know who the driver is, please pass on our most sincere gratitude. Well Peter, weve had our colleagues in the Livingston area trying to track down the driver all day. It transpires that the driver in question was Mark Wilson, from Bathgate. Upon finishing his shift and arriving at the depot, he was told of the gratitude expressed by you and your mother, before being informed that he was being dismissed with immediate effect for gross misconduct, as letting passengers ride for free is theft. Thank You The First Buses Team
