We received another request to stop by and visit one of our senior citizens recently from their granddaughter. Officer Thompson stopped by and visited with Sally and learned a lot about her and her history association with our community. Sally talked about how she has lived in the same home in Benton since 1956. She told him about the housing addition they lived in was once one of the Alcoa Neighborhoods that were built during Alcoas boom days in the 40s and 50s. Sally and her husband, Randy, got engaged in 1943 and were married for 68 years before he passed away three years ago. Randy was a retired Marine Corp Colonel who was a pilot in World War II and the Korean War. Sally worked for a number of years for the Ouachita Council of the Girl Scouts before retiring. While working there, she helped in the building of Camp Storey and served on their advisory board. Officer Thompson had a great visit with Sally and promised to stop back by soon to check on her. #CelebratingOurSeniorCitizens #CommunityFirst
