We received over 100 applications for Florence from many wonderful families. What we often find is that the dog picks his/her forever family and this was the case with Florence. Florences foster family, Dan and Rachel, learned all about what Florence needed in a forever family. She is very high energy and would get into mischief when she didnt burn off enough energy. They took Florence on several walks a day and trips to the dog park which she loved but they knew she would love nothing better than a home with a fenced in yard and someone to keep her busy during the day. We received an application from a family where the mom was home during the day and they had a fenced in yard. They understand the energy level of Florence and that did not scare them away. Diane, Tony and their 3 children met Florence and she was everything they had hoped for. Thank you as always to Dan and Rachel for continuing to foster our satos. Thank you to Marla and her family who fostered Florence in Puerto Rico until she was ready to come to New York. Here is an update from Florence/now Laceys mom Dane: Happy New Year! We decided to rename Florence. She is now Lacey and is doing great! She has been sleeping through the night in her crate. She is doing well with housetraining. She lets me know that she needs to go out. Only 1 accident the first day, but it was our fault. We were looking at her and talking about going out, but we didnt move fast enough. She is enjoying long walks and our backyard. She has met a few neighbor dogs already and did well. We took her for her vet appointment today and she was very well behaved and calm. We are very happy with her. It was a great week to adopt, since we were all home for the break and could get adjusted over the week. We will keep you updated. Thanks very much,
