We received the following prayer request and prayer guide from Kingsley and Glenda Walker (HAPN Missouri State Leaders) for the ongoing situation in St. Louis. HAPN ----------------------------------------------- August 11, 2014 Dear Prayer leaders and intercessors, This communication comes to ask for your immediate and ongoing prayer regarding our city of St. Louis. As many of you may already know, a terrible tragedy occurred in Ferguson over the weekend as a young man, Michael Brown, was shot and killed during an altercation with law enforcement. At this time we cannot say for sure what took place regarding the shooting, in fact, it would be unwise to even speculate. However, our prayers must be extended to the Brown family, to the officer involved in the shooting incident and to his family, to the law enforcement officers that are being summoned from all over the city and attempting to keep order, and to the government leaders and workers in each of the municipalities that are now being affected. The rioting, lootings and destruction that took place last night are a manifestation of high level spirits that have been waiting for an opportune time to provoke and enflame. We are asking for intercessory assistance, as we stand in the gap, come in the opposing spirit, and release the Fathers heart over this situation and region. Let us declare PROTECTION over our dear brothers and sisters who live or work in or near that area, some from our own fellowship, as well as, churches and pastors in that area, for protection and wisdom. We call forth righteous voices to be heard above the fray during this time . . . Heavenly Father, we ask you to use this situation to raise up leaders who will be your mouthpiece, that what the enemy has intended for evil, will actually become a catapult to release and thrust Godly men and women into position for such a time as this. Let us unite in prayer, according to the following scriptures . . . Ephesians 4:29 – “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto hearers.” In the name of Jesus, we release blessing (and not cursing) over the men and women of our city. We call the young men and women in Ferguson and the surrounding St. Louis metro region to be full of wisdom, integrity, character, and righteousness. We agree with the intercession and prayers of the late William Coleman who pastored in Jennings for many years when he said his prayer for the young men and women of the north side was . . . That they would be men and women of righteousness, not lawlessness. That they would rise above their circumstances and situations to a higher calling and a knowledge and understanding of true relationship with Jesus Christ. We come into agreement with his prayer. By the help of the Holy Spirit, we set a watch over our mouth, over what we say…and what we pray. We declare and pray the Word, not our opinion or preference. Ephesians 2:14 – “For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us.” We call forth shalom over St. Louis . . . nothing missing, nothing broken, all complete, and that which has bound us to chaos is broken. We declare shalom over those trapped in lawless thinking and break the grip of the vigilante spirit and lawlessness over Ferguson, our region, our nation and in this situation. Acts 19:23, 29, 32, & 35 – This is the account of Demetrius the silversmith who incited a riot, based on what he heard Paul had done in Ephesus and almost all of Asia. Verses 23 and 29 say, 23“And the same time there arose no small stir about that way…”, 29“ And the whole city was filled with confusion …” Verse 32 mentions, “…Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused; and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.” The key here is that in verse 35, the town clerk appeased the people and was used to disperse the crowd and bring order. We call our city into order . . . We stand in the gap for the government and civic leaders of St. Louis and it’s many municipalities, we declare that they would have great courage and boldness rise upon them as they receive divine revelation of strategy and order. We declare that they will be used mightily to disperse riotous situations and potentially destructive forces, and that they will be defenders of all the citizens and those oppressed on every side. We cry out for mercy upon everyone in this situation. We agree with the word of the LORD, which came to Zechariah . . . This is what the LORD Almighty says: Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor. In your hearts to not think evil of each other. (7:9,10) We cancel the assignment of the enemy to stir up lies, half-truths, gossip and slander against anyone involved in this situation, including the young man and the police officer(s), the residents of Ferguson and the police department, or via the media . . . we call them into HOLY thinking and reporting . . . that truth and justice may prevail and healing may come to this area. We agree with the Isaiah 60:17b-18 that was prophesied over St. Louis, in St. Louis, some years back . . . I will make peace your governor and righteousness your ruler. No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders, but you will call your walls salvation and your gates Praise. So, we begin to worship and we begin to praise over our city, we begin to call those things that are not as though they are. We declare HOLY, we sing HOLY, we worship the HOLY ONE of Israel, the Lord God Almighty . . . the one who says, For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery and iniquity (Isaiah 61:8), and we declare that St. Louis will be a HOLY CITY OF JUSTICE AND TRUTH, MERCY AND RIGHTEOUSNESS . . . Colossians 3:15-17 – “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” EVERYONE SING! Worship over St. Louis, worship over those that are in turmoil . . . let us worship and seed the atmosphere with praise! In our homes and upon our beds (Psalm 149:5) , let us declare Isaiah 26:1-3 as we sing . . . “In that day this song will be sung in the land (of Judah); We have a strong city; God makes salvation its walls and ramparts. Open the gates, that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith. You will keep in perfect peace, him whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. ” Together, for the Kingdom . . . Blessings!
