We rejoice with Melissa, Momma Class of 2010! For the first time in six years I heard The MRI is all clear. The first time I heard the words come out of my mouth tears came to my eyes. I am still afraid to get excited. I will talk with Chases solid tumor doctor today to get the results from his PET CT that he had yesterday. He is within the time frame for re-occurrence of his second diagnosis (Osteosarcoma of the Skull) and the doctors are being very watchful. I am so very thankful for all that his medical team has done to bring him to this point and sad at the same time because of the damage that the harsh treatments have done to his body. He visited with the Pain Clinic for the first time yesterday to find better solutions to managing his chronic pain caused by AVN, Osteonecrosis, and nerve damage in his hips legs and feet. He will have phlebotomy again Friday as he has the past 6 months to treat his liver which is heavy with iron due to all the blood transfusions he has had to have throughout treatment. We visited with the Nephrologist last month about his kidneys and they are holding with a creatine level of 3.6. This has slowly been creeping up and once it gets to 4.0 we will discuss a kidney transplant. I usually write these updates and never post them because of the negative remarks I have gotten over the years about how it is perceived that this journey is all about me but with lots of introspection and prayer I have realized that these post are all about me because I am on this journey with him. I have been by his side every step of the way and do not regret any of the decisions that I have made because they have made us both stronger and wiser. I cannot thank everyone enough for all their support and love. I can see the light at the end of tunnel. I know there will be some curves and bumps before we get there but that glimmer of light is so beautiful. Never give up because miracles do happen.
