We returned to St George mid-morning after Hurricane Gonzalo. We were lucky to get a lift out to Ocean Spirit. She rode the storm out on her storm mooring. No damage to the main sail or BBQ - however, our lovely bimini was ripped to shreds. We had not been able to undo the zips to remove the bimini. The salt had seized up the zippers, so we had lowered the boom with main sail onto the top of the bimini to try and hold her safe. However, that was the only damage, apart from some damage to her rub rail where something had banged into her. Her hull is 1 inch thick fibreglass - so does really well! We were so relieved, and her engine started straight away.
