We said a tearful goodbye this morning as Shadows foster family. I took him to work with me for the last time before his adopted family came to fetch him. As he was driven off waging his tail a sob caught in my throat and I so wanted to take him back, our whole family did. I walked back into our surgery feeling heartbroken at losing him until I looked around me at the animals in our waiting room for a variety of reasons (some too awful for words) and the realization hit me at how fortunate our precious Shadow is going to the loving and awesome home he has gone to. I never thought Id be able to cope with fostering but it dawned on me that us foster patents are the angels on the highway to furever heaven (their new homes) for these animals. So many puppies come in tiny like Shadow or smaller that need extra special care and especially socializing and training in order to integrate successfully into a home. If you cant adopt please consider fostering. Grateful thanks to Shadows new family for giving him a chance at a home :)
