We said that we are going to do better about letting you know what our successes have been and what is happening behind the scenes so ... drum roll ... BUBBLES has made it home!!! If you recall, at 4 years old, she was orphaned for the second time in her life when her last pet-parent left this world too soon. It was a very heart-warming union when this insecure young girl met Barb. We traveled to Parma to introduce the two Monday evening. Bubbles was not too happy about traveling with 3 strangers in the car and she wasnt afraid to show her pearly whites to make sure we knew she was boss. Respectful of her insecurities, we let her dictate. We giggled and joked about her behaviors and had our doubts that we would have success - but we were committed to the introduction so we made the trip anyway. Well, needless to say, she knew Barb needed her as much as she needed Barb and it was an instant connection! No longer did she act insecure or fearful. She took off and ran laps around the living room jumping from couch to love seat then bounced on the floor and repeated the routine. When given her choice of 6 or more toys, she couldnt decide which one she wanted to play with first and actually smiled in glee. Her behavior is proof-positive that animals know when they are loved and Barb loved Bubbles immediately! The next day was spent bonding and shopping together. This match was meant to be.
