We saw the doctor and his nurse today. They gave us mixed results - TopicsExpress

We saw the doctor and his nurse today. They gave us mixed results which we were expecting. Some of my lesions have shrunk and others have grown. They seemed to be pretty concerned about 2 in particular. One of them is on my sternum and the other is at the T2. The nurse first discussed everything with us and then told us that Dr. Van Rhee was at San Francisco. She called him and discussed my scans with him and they came up with a plan over the phone. She also told us that Dr. T would come in to review things also and talk to us. When Dr. T came in and looked at my lesions on my PET Scan he said, That is really big which made me think That must really be big. Right now I am in Infusion 4 getting a bag of fluids and Cytoxin (sp). We will be driving home tonight when this is done. It is suppose to take an hour. Well we will drive part of the way home tonight. It looks like we will not get out of here until 5pm. Perfect timing for afternoon rush hour. The rush hour traffic goes on for about 30 miles to the next city on I-40 which is the same way we will be going. Hopefully we will get a good chunk of our trip out of the way and have just several hours to get home tomorrow. It is pretty wet and foggy right now and they gave me some anti nausea pills which will make me drowsy so it is up in the air who will be driving. We are scheduled to come back to Little Rock on January 19th for testing again to see if this chemo has worked. In the mean time I will be doing chemo and weekly blood tests in Salina. I was told that if I have any problems while in Salina I may have to go to the Emergency room. It is still possible that we may be making an emergency trip back to LR if things turn bad again. Other than that I am good. I am feeling fairly good right now and have some energy. I am still about 15-20 pounds under my normal weight so I am looking pretty scrawny right now. I hope I can get back to work soon. We are still in pretty good spirits even with the news because there is no reason to be upset over something we cant control. We said goodbye to Donna today and we hope they get to leave here soon. Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Blessings and Shaka!! \ooo/
