We see a lot of photos here, and thats great. But...when you are out in the field (in other words, anytime you walk out your door) take along a notebook to write down your impressions of birds: color, size, activity, field marks (does it have wing bars, eye stripes, barred tail, etc.) If you dont have a notebook, and I mean even a little thing or a nice scrap of paper, then you need to start carrying paper with you. :) Ive been trying to figure out the i.d. on the bird that Mark Jones posted, and I just cant tell. I sent the photo to Picasa and zoomed in, but that didnt help. Excuse me if I sound impolite. I just want to stress that photos are great but so are notes.
