We see from the Daily Digest that the Government is fast tracking 500 applications for citizenship. The concern here is that if China does not allow dual citizenship and with its powerful economic environment, the only people that will want to leave China and have the kind of money being talked about to throw at a scheme like this will be the underworld drug dealers and criminals who want to get out of reach of Chinas tough criminal laws. We may end being a centre for rich asylum seekers seeking to use Vanuatu as a jump off point to Australia and New Zealand and now even Europe. Each applicant must be carefully screened. If even the bigger security agencies can miss them, how are we going to find them.
