We sent out the wrap up and recipe sharing instructions email last night to all who purchased tickets through EventBrite. Its pasted below or email dcpiefest@gmail to get your own copy and be added to the distribution list. (No spam, promise!) A huge thank you to everyone for buying tickets, baking pies, making donations, and helping the Pie Fest planning committee stay true to its motto of: Have fun, eat pie, and celebrate life! We all had a great time last Sunday and we sincerely hope you did too. An extra special thank you to the Pie Fest 2013 Volunteers: Planning Committee members, plus Nora Glaser, Dale Glaser, Mindy Adnot, Sarah Teske, Johanna Zetterberg, Benjamin Goldstein, Abe Denmark, and Kate Roetzer! Fundraising Total Most importantly, we are very gratified to report that everyone contributed $2,500 to support the Jayna Troxel Murray Foundation -- meeting our fundraising goal and exceeding last year’s target by 25%! Jayna’s brother and sister-in-law were in attendance and extremely grateful for your support. Foundation scholarships will assist individuals in gaining access to the same academic, study abroad, and travel camp programs in which Jayna participated and which played an important role in making her the special person that she was. T-Shirts If you didn’t win – except by getting to eat LOTS of pie – and therefore did not take home a Pie Fest 2013 t-shirt, we have them available for $15 each, including shipping. If you posted photos on your own Facebook page, please tag Pie Fest so we can all enjoy them. Recipes We heard lots of interest in getting and sharing recipes this year. To join in the fun, send one (or more) recipe to: DCpiefest@gmail. When you do, we will add your recipe to the Pie Fest recipes Google drive folder and invite you to access it. You will then be able to see all of the other shared recipes! Next Year Like the Pie Fest page on Facebook to be the first to hear next year’s save the date! Expect that it will be in the fall at Bourbon in Adams Morgan… We are grateful for all of your support and hope to see you again next year – spread the word and practice those pie recipes until then!
