We serve dinner at 4 on Sundays this time of year, so we still have light, and the temperature hasnt dropped too low. Its nice for everyone to be able to sit and enjoy, before the cold creeps in and sets in for the evening. Lots of hot comfort food tonight, pea and ham soup, meatloaf, beef stew, potatoes, mixed vegetables and gravy, and an array of yummy desserts. Soft drinks thanks to Schweppes. Hot Chocolate, tea and Coffee. It amazing how hot the water stays in an urn without power. Boil it at home, wrap it in foil and it stays pretty hot. Everyone was in good spirits and are super excited about the Pizza in the Park tomorrow night. A drop off on the way home to a family who cannot get there, and another patron who got the times mixed up just picked a meal up ( thankfully we have pre packed meals ). Thanks to tonights wonderful volunteers, Jacinta, Cherilyn, Oggy, Kym and Taylor, not only for all you do, but the compassion, in which you do it xx Almost forgot, we also had lots and lots of packed sealed sandwiches to give out too.
