We should not forget the military service members who are not home - TopicsExpress

We should not forget the military service members who are not home on Christmas, separated from their families, have to work on Christmas--especially those in danger in combat zones in Iraq and Afghanistan (even if Iraq is almost withdrawn there are still soldiers there and special operations in Iraq and Syria and other places), Africa, North Korea and many other places in the world our soldiers are in that are or could be dangerous--and some on missions that we will never know about and these operators will never get credit for. It is a strain on the family, family life, marriages, and causes stress. It is difficult for children to understand. It is a great sacrifice in addition to the sacrifice of military service. The world is a dangerous place (and perhaps always has been but the end of the bipolar world and the cold war in the early 90s until a multi-polar world and low intensity conflicts, guerrilla warfare and terrorism has caused a greater number of conflicts and a different type of asymmetrical warfare without traditional large enemies going at each other) and the rise of Al-Qaeda and the criminal acts of terror in the late 90s, 9-11 against the United States, the terror acts in Europe and now the rise of ISIS which is a huge regional threat in Syria and Iraq and bleeding into Lebanon now (and Lebanon was becoming stabilized again and thriving) creates further problems. North Korea seems insane and our soldiers there are under constant threat of insanity on the button of nuclear power. Merry Christmas to ALL our servicemen (in combat zones or out) Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines, and Coast Guard and the good private operators, NSA, the good DOD contractors, FBI overseas, CIA and any anyone who wears a uniform or puts themselves in harms way on or around Christmas and anytime all year round. God Bless and protect you. Christopher LaFayelle,
