We spent a really nice day, yesterday. at an unexpected place just 45 minutes away. We have been to Milford, Pa. before, but this fabulous 1886 Mansion is hidden away on a side street. It is the former home of Gifford Pinchot (1886), 1st Chief of the Natl Forrest Service. After touring the expansive grounds..worth the trip, we spent some time in the quaint & charming town. We had dinner at a sidewalk restaurant & enjoyed the friendly people, everywhere, listening to the night of music they were having. Tom suddenly was struck by how lucky we were to live in America & be free like this. It was a Norman Rockwell scene & we felt a ping of pride & fear,too, as we thought about all the soldiers that are defending us in awful places around the world to make this possible!
