We spent the day at Carnton Plantation - loved it! Gerry carried a folding chair to each floor and room during the tour so Mom could sit; less tiring overall so she could enjoy the very full day more. And we were glad because there was so much to the area. LOVED the historical aspect, plus we insisted we were seeing ghosts. Yes, yes, we did! So much to each other that pretty soon we thought we really DID, lol! One of the guides told us a visitor insisted they had a convo with Carrie. (The mistress of the plantation - and we said we were SURE they did!) :-) Largest Confederate hospital during the Civil War and rife with stories, and although much was painful, still well worth knowing and altogether fascinating...beautiful gardens...wonderful day!
