“We stand on guard for thee” As most of my Facebook friends - TopicsExpress

“We stand on guard for thee” As most of my Facebook friends have probably heard by now over 100 of my Severyn election signs disappeared in one single day. The only facts I have at hand is a few destroyed signs found in 2 public garbage cans and a lot of missing property. At first thought what resonated through me was a deep pit in my stomach feeling, like a kick to the gut, but thankfully due to years of professional experience with conflict and crisis management I quickly recognized to put aside those counterproductive emotions and focus on logic and reason to derive the truth then using the truth apply critical thinking. While the authorities continue their investigation and until I have all the facts, my honed instincts force me to refrain from making any comments or premature judgements. This is how my thought processes works and if elected as your Mayor how I would instill trust, mutual respect among a diverse counsel to benefit all the citizens of Nelson not just pit one side at the expense of the other. What happened next is I quickly made a few phone calls to my campaign team committee heads, delegated instructions and before I knew it I had more 2 dozen calls come in with financial aid, physical support and a plan to rebuild what was lost demonstrates structured leadership. Most importantly what became apparent to me personally, is how this week all Canadians took a collective hit from what sadly happened back East. I am sure for any of us who watched our MP’s in parliament put aside their differences, stand proudly singing our national anthem in unison and solidarity forces one to contemplate what we all love and cherish that is Canada, no setback will ever put us down, the missing signs are nothing, but what is something …..“We stand on guard for thee” is the indelible truth.
