We still have some thunderstorms to contend with this evening. A - TopicsExpress

We still have some thunderstorms to contend with this evening. A very active storm has formed as it pushes in to the Newcastle area. Plenty of lightning strikes are showing up on the detectors. If we head south in to the East Midlands we have 2 active cells producing lightning. The first should just brush the eastern side of Northampton. Only a few miles North East of this cell there is another thunderstorm which will slide to the south of Peterborough. For East Anglia, London & the Home Counties showers will continue before slowly fizzling out later this evening. Dont be surprised if you hear the odd rumble of thunder. The outlook is for the weather to settle down during the next 3 or 4 days as high pressure takes charge. Maximum temperatures of 22-24c are a real possibility, particularly across the southern half of the United kingdom. Though, the heat may trigger off some isolated thunderstorms during Friday and Saturday. Across the far North West it will be cooler with unsettled weather reaching here by Saturday. Have a lovely evening. Lewis
