We stood up in Parliament this week and voted against a motion for parliamentarians to take a very long summer break from December 10 till February 10. With so many pressing problems in the country it is our view that these should be being addressed right up till Christmas Eve. But no, the National Party wanted a rest, from what we are not sure. Ironically this is the government that decided Kiwi workers don’t really need a tea break, but their MPs can’t do without a super long holiday.
