We stopped by the funeral home yesterday afternoon to see Erika Schmidt and say our goodbyes. She looked so good, as she always did, in red. Displayed nearby was her Holy Trinity kitchen apron signed by soooo many kids. Diane said, I had most of those kids in kindergarten, before they moved over to Holy T. And, I said, ...yeah, and I connected with them in my classrooms at Paola High. This is what weve loved about living in a small town. Neighbors, like Erika and Fritz Schmidt, and getting to know so many kids and their families. So many of you that Im speaking about from the apron are right here on my Facebook friends list!!!!
