We stopped in Rode Island today and took a tour of the summer cottages of the 400 club. Our guide said to be a part of this club you could never have worked nor your father or mother had worked. You had to be considered old money. We could not take pictures inside, but were aloud to take pictures outside of the house we toured. The pictures show the outside of the Vanderbilt summer cottage. The entire house was made of stone, steel, marble, tile and granite. The library had dark wood paneling with leather inlayed and embossed in gold to look like book covers. The billiard room had solid blue marble walls with granite columns and mosaic tile floors. The other 68 rooms are equally impressive.
