We struggle in our relationship with God because we struggle in our relationship with man. We have been hurt, abandoned, used, and abused by those we love and trust. We have hurt, abandoned, used, and abused those we love and trust. We are victims of relationships and we create victims in our relationships. The pathway to peace is forgiving those who have hurt and harmed us and making amends to those we have hurt and harmed us. God demonstrates His great love teaches us the importance of His Forgiveness, Grace, and Mercy. God’s love gift, Jesus, teaches us that Love, Forgiveness, Grace, and Mercy are necessary to satisfies the need for judgment and condemnation. As victims we are quick to demand judgment and condemnation from God for our offender. As the offender we are quick to as for grace and mercy from the victim and God. You determine God’s response by your own action. “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7 (KJV) You must give forgiveness to receive forgiveness. Give mercy to receive mercy. You must give love to receive love. Sometimes in our effort to sow love, grace, and mercy we give up before we receive the love grace, and mercy we seek. “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:36-38 (NIV)
