We study the Arts, not to train a generation of artists... but to stimulate a way of being in the world... considering, reflecting, analysing, communicating Historically, arts has been pushed to the side, in education, when other things crowd in... when literacy and numeracy agendas become more important... but what this research shows is - thats a bad choice, and that The Arts should be at the centre of the curriculum because it has benefits across all areas of learning, for students who are involved. New Australian research has identified the value of participating in arts experiences in school. The study is based on 643 primary and secondary school students from 15 schools over the course of two years. https://youtube/watch?v=9ebEQpRJK14&feature=youtu.be psycnet.apa.org/psycinfo/2013-14506-001/
