We successfully staved off the post-big race stupor with another great week of sessions. Let’s really keep it moving by making our last full week of the fall season our best yet. Here are this week’s updates. The Local, in its quest to leave no street unexplored, begins at Nike Running UES and takes us to an often-overlooked East River destination. After touring the historical island that hosts the ruins of the city’s old Smallpox Hospital, Roosevelt Island will serve a much sunnier function: the venue of our post-run party with a view. Trunday will pick up where it left off outside of Verizon Field. This is the fall season’s last Trunday, so let’s make sure to go out with a bang with the city as our gym. Our Long (RED) Run this week has a special purpose - we’re turning our miles (RED). For every mile we run, Bank of America will donate $0.40 - enough to purchase a day’s worth of life saving medication - to the global fund to fight AIDS. Make sure to pledge your miles (nike/onestep4red) and sync them to the Nike Running App to make them count. Lastly, make sure to RSVP and check in for this special session - itll be worth your while. As you’ve likely noticed, Facebooks group functionality cant keep up with us. So to #keepitmoving, we’ll be closing the Facebook groups for Nike Running Upper East Side, Nike Running Flatiron, & Niketown NY on November 20th and moving our Nike+ NYC communication to the @NikeNYC Twitter and Instagram pages, as well as the Community Forums page - gonike.me/NikeNYC_Community Be sure to check them out - we think you’ll find them up to our speed. We have 11 more sessions until our Holiday Break. That means 11 more opportunities to run our city together.
