We tend to focus so much on the world’s definitions of success—money, power, fame, intelligence, looks, possessions—that we lose sight of the real goal. We get so caught up in what others think of us that we lose our eternal focus; we concern ourselves so much with chasing after fleeting treasures that we lose sight of the eternal prize. But, if we lose sight of God, then what does any of it matter? If we forfeit our souls, who cares if the world looks at us and calls us a success?
