We tend to seek out people (myself included) who share our values. Oftentimes, I find Im making friends with those who exhibit qualities I would like to refine in myself. The fundamentalist, the republican, the broker, the sadist, are usually not in my circle. In this way, my perception of reality is incestuous. I cant name a single person, within my campfires glow, who is severely impoverished. Almost half of the folks I interact with on the regular, write poetry. Thats a language that the general population doesnt even speak. The kicker is, that I refrain from making good friends with those who have mastered qualities I wish to hone out of intimidation, though I know that they climbed that mountain step-by-step. When NC Amnt. 1 passed, I defriended anyone who was publicity pro (roughly 100 people) out of rage. I plan on seeking out a humans spectrum, going forward. Most of the assholes I havent thrown from the electric raft, simply have impossibly crafted senses of humor. I wonder what has kept me afloat with them.
