We, the Pacific Heritage Hub CONGRATULATE: THE PEOPLE OF VANUATU and THE VANUATU KALJORAL SENTA (VKS) for their 10th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE UNESCO INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE (ICH) IN VANUATU. The Pacific region has actively engaged with the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) safeguarding in the region. Ten years after the adoption of the ICH Convention, seven Pacific islands states are now parties to the ICH Convention. Celebrating this achievement, Vanuatu Cultural Centre (VCC) in Port Vila organized a three-day celebration from 12 to 14 June 2013. The programme included lectures, music and dance, story-telling, as well as the demonstration of Vanuatu Sand Drawing, one of the two Pacific ICH elements inscribed on the ICH Representative List.
