We think we have found someone who has said they would be a patron for Consett Cats charity. We asked local NE author Sheila Quigley yesterday if she would be interested and she has said yes. Now we need to double check what it all means for the charity and importantly for Sheila. Weve never done this before so need to make sure everything is done properly, regular readers will know by now how much we are paranoid at CC about making sure we dot all the is and cross all the ts. One day we may be able to expand and so everything has to be done right. Sheila is a dog lover first and foremost and we know she has two gorgeous dogs who probably are in charge in her house but we also know she loves all animals and like us would probably tackle anyone without question if they witnessed anyone abusing an animal, regardless of any thought for our own welfare. Ive invited Sheila to like the page first so she can see what kind of things we get up to. Should she like what she sees then at the very basic level of involvement, we get to state Sheila is a patron of the charity and Sheila is also very welcome to tell everyone she is a patron for the charity. It could be mutually beneficial in that Sheila helps us raise our profile and if some of our supporters love a good crime novel, well I certainly recommend her books as a good read and maybe she gets some new readers of her books. It is hoped in time to have more than one patron because ideally you have folks from different walks of life and then the profile of the charity is raised because folks recognise different people for different things. Let us know what you think about the likely appointment of our first patron - remember we may be a small charity but everyone has to start somewhere.
