We took Robbie to Touch a Truck Day today. He wasnt as excited - TopicsExpress

We took Robbie to Touch a Truck Day today. He wasnt as excited about it once we got there as it was super loud due to the kids being able to honk the horns of whatever they were in. He spent most of the time covering his ears. The chemo has affected his hearing and made him significantly more sensitive on top of the high frequency hearing loss in his right ear. He liked watching the helicopter land, but wanted nothing to do with it after that. Waited in line for him to be able to check it out, just to have him refuse once we were close to his turn. See, for Robbie, helicopters mean hospital. He has (gratefully) never had to ride in one, but when we are on the 6th and 7th floors, you hear and see the helicopter frequently. There are times it seems to be coming and going constantly and other times we dont hear it at all, but it is always a bright orange or bright green helicopter that we see. His intelligence in association make me proud of him, but that same intelligence makes me sad as he didnt enjoy this day like he would have last year. Not once did he ask to check out the ambulance either. Hopefully the demolition derby tonight will be a more enjoyable experience for him
