We took a little detour on our trip in NO to visit Charity Hospital where I was born. It never reopened after Katrina. Its considered a landmark now & wont be torn down. After I was born I was taken to Sellers Baptist Home to be placed for adoption. Its closed down too. When we pulled up to the home I wasnt quite sure if it was the place. There were 2 old ladies sittin on the porch of the house acrosse the street from it so we stopped & talked to them. Its like they had been sittin there waitin on us. Im tellin ya this is not the best of neighborhoods! But there was a peace while we were talkin to them....it was kind of crazy.
