We took my grandson last night to the Magical Nights of Lights at Lake Lanier Islands and came back disappointed. There is a good reason the price of admission was lowered this year to only $30 per car. Thats because the event management in its infinite wisdom has removed about half of the lights and instead chose to turn the ride into a carnival atmosphere. The light ride ends at the hotel where you have to make a u-turn and then go to a parking lot where you exit your car and walk about 1/2 mile along the beach to where the rides and restaurants are. The two highlights of the evening are the live Nativity Scene and Santa. You do not have to pay to visit the Nativity Scene but you do if youre going to see Santa. The $30 admission includes Snow World and a visit to Santa. Everything is over priced, almost $3 for a cup of coffee and almost $5 for five marshmallows on a stick. The Smores cost $5. All in all, I doubt that we will return. Next year it will probably be a visit to Callaway Gardens.
