We travelled around Dundee yesterday, enjoying the lovely warm sunshine and also the cheery toots and waves from fellow Indy supporters.. It was uplifting and enjoyable. We then decided to stop off for a nice wee cuppa and duly parked the big Yes bus at Tesco Kingsway car park.. We were happy to spend our money in their store and have some lunch before setting off on our travels again .. It wasnt long before a member from Tesco management came over and very rudely ordered us to leave, whilst at the same time telling us that he was now on the phone to the police ! We left. No cuppa, no deley. We left. What had we did wrong ? So.. we decided to go buy some refreshments at Asda. Again we parked the bonnie big bus, and myself and Mike Strachan went into the store and came out with £26 worth of coffee for the volunteers.. No sooner had we returned to the bus, we were once again very rudely approached by a store manager, phone in hand, already shouting to us that the police were being called and that we had better leave immediately ! He said if there had been a bus from the no camp then we might have been able to stay ! We asked politely for a refund as the drinks werent even off of the trays and were aggressively told no ! He marched off and gave us no chance to discuss anything further with him whatsoever.. So thank you Asda and thank you Tesco .. You made us feel like lepars..like criminals. You forced us out of your car parks.. You threatened us immediately with police intervention, for what ? Is this discrimination against Independence voters ? Were we doing anything illegal ? We were well mannered, law abiding Scottish citizens.. Yet treated with utter contempt and threatened with police force ! Wheres the democracy in this ! Wheres our freedom of speech ? Bullied and censored. Will be seeking legal advice on this..
